A room scanned with an iPhone, photo-textured 3D
LiDAR shape + photo texture. Orbit around, or walk through the room in Walk mode
Drag to rotate, wheel (two fingers) to zoom. Walk mode: W·A·S·D on a keyboard or the on-screen arrows at bottom left, drag to look around.
How it was made
- One room scanned with the free Modelar app on a LiDAR iPhone, walking for about 11 minutes (524 video frames, 44 photos, 12,132,505 LiDAR points)
- Shape: a mesh fused from 1,572 LiDAR depth frames (1,390,645 triangles). Real-metre dimensions, no floating fragments
- Colour: 568 photos projected onto the mesh from the camera poses the iPhone recorded (texrecon picks the largest view per triangle and evens out seams). Match with real photos 15.76 → 17.55 dB
- Processed on a home server (arcAI, RTX 5060 Ti): texturing took 7 min. Nothing uploaded to a cloud service
Known gaps
See all 12 methods built from the same scan →
- Where LiDAR reads poorly (black desk surfaces) the surface is thin or missing
- Things thinner than LiDAR resolution (cables, pens) are painted on, without shape
- Lighting and shadows are baked into the photos
